It is being reported that Manchester United will make ‘discreet moves’ to see if they can prise Pep Guardiola from Bayern. Footballer turned pundit Jan Aage Fjortoft is more than a little skeptical.
The news that David Moyes is no longer the top man at Manchester United has caused a flurry of speculation. Heck, we even got in on the act ourselves as we looked at the men who may step in to replace Moyes.
But we omitted Pep Guardiola, simply because we can’t imagine him leaving Bayern Munich after just one year.
However, the Telegraph are reporting that United will ‘check on’ Guardiola’s availability to see if they can get him into the Old Trafford hot seat.
In fairness to the Telegraph they acknowledge that after checking on Pep the powers that be at United will turn to ‘more realistic targets’. Which is everyone else in the world of football bar Brendan Rodgers.
Anyway the rumour was dismissed in fine style by Jan Aage Fjortoft, who now makes a living as a TV pundit in Norway and Germany.
The Telegraph: Manchester United will check if Guardiola is available. Why don’t they check out Elvis Presley while they’re at it
