Joe Schmidt’s men finished off their season with a hard fought victory…

Ireland beat Argentina 23-17 to clinch a two-nil series win in South America. Simon Zebo and Ian Madigan scored second half tries as they came from behind to beat the vibrant Pumas in Tucaman.

Zebo, who’s looking to impress after breaking his way back into the set-up, touched down after some fantastic work by Eoin Reddan while Madigan evaded two defenders to cross the line just minutes after taking a massive hit from one of the Argentinians.

Noel Reid, Rob Herring and James Cronin came on to make their debuts, while Kieran Marmion made just his second appearance in an Irish shirt.

It’s wasn’t spectacular but a win is a win is a win and to be fair, Argentina performed much better than a lot of people expected to they deserved credit. The game ends what has been a roller-coaster year under Schmidt, we already can’t wait for the next campaign.
