Villa got the nod up front in a much-changed line-up for the reigning World Champions’ meaningless clash with Australia this afternoon and he justified his selection with the goal that put Spain in front shortly before half-time.
He may have only been six yards out, but the former Barcelona and Atletico Madrid striker showed serious skills to flick it to the back of the net and put a frown on the faces of the Australian fans who’ll be watching him in action for Melbourne in the A-League next season.
