JOE are big fans of a tense and awkward post-match press conference so naturally we love this showdown between Man Utd’s wonderfully eccentric manager Louis Van Gaal and Newstalk’s own Dave McIntyre.
Van Gaal’s men are on a roll having beaten Liverpool 3-0 yesterday to go 6 games unbeaten however the performance was far from solid as United relied on a world-class display from their Spanish ‘keeper.
Raheem Sterling probably had some 3am nightmares thinking about the United shot-stopper.
While we like to think that Van Gaal is revolutionising football by ignoring the positions of defence and midfield in favour of having expert finishers and an unbeatable ‘keeper the Dutchman took umbrage with this question asked about De Gea’s future amid reports linking him with a move to Real Madrid.
We’re big fans of McIntyre here in JOE Towers because not only is the Setanta and Sky Sports commentator incredibly good at his job but he’s also a really sound bloke.
Van Gaal might not agree with us though after this meeting with the journalist which was picked up by the team at Match of The Day.
