Twitter reacts to the news that Sony has cancelled The Interview

Twitter has its say on news that Seth Rogen and James Franco’s new film won’t be released.

In case you did’t hear the news overnight, Sony has made the monumental decision to pull the release of their new satirical film The Interview because of cyber terror threats.

In the film, Rogen and Franco play a news journalist and producer who travel to North Korea in an effort to be taken seriously, but the film has been targeted by the North Korean regime as slanderous and offensive.

Conspiracy theorists believe that the Communist state may have some involvement with the recent spate of cyber hacks on the company although this remains unproven.

The reason for the film’s cancellation though was because hackers promised “9/11-style” attacks on any theatres that went ahead and screened the comedy.

Sony Pictures has since made the unprecedented decision to pull the film’s theatrical release due to the threats made by these hackers and quite a lot of actors, directors and celebrities have shared their feelings on the issue:

And this is what James Franco tweeted a few hours after hearing the news. Odd lad.
