Strong words from the club captain…
Following on from the disgraceful, racist scenes that were recorded in Paris during the week, Chelsea club captain, John Terry, has written his own view on the matter in today’s match programme for the Premier League tie against Burnley.
These comments follow on from manager Jose Mourinho’s remarks that he’s ashamed of the Chelsea fans in question, while the club has taken steps to ban the racists from future Blues matches.
Here’s what Terry had to say ahead of the match, a fixture which also happens to be the club’s annual ‘Game for Equality.’
This is our annual Game for Equality, when we show that this club stands against all forms of discrimination.
Football is a sport for everyone, that is one of the main reasons why we love it, and what happened on the Paris Metro on Tuesday was unacceptable.
The club has reacted quickly to deal with the situation and will continue to do so.
