Jonas Gutierrez’s return to football after beating testicular cancer has been one of the stories of the season to date.
The Newcastle winger was given the all-clear only six months ago yet has made a remarkable return to first-team football with the Magpies in recent weeks and his presence has been greeted warmly by Newcastle and opposition fans alike.
Last night, Gutierrez made an appearance as a second-half substitute in Newcastle’s 2-0 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield and the reception he was given upon his introduction would make the hairs stand on the back of your neck.
