The Air Support Unit were up bright and early and, in the absence of any crime to fight, caught these impressive images from the first Dublin Ironman contest.

The competition was won by Frenchman Denis Chevrot in a time of 4.01.35. Susie Cheethman from the UK was the first woman to cross the finish line on Sunday with a time of 4.27.09.
More than 2,500 athletes took part in Ironman 70.3 through Dublin – the whole thing kicked off at 7am this morning.
