It’s going to be some weekend.

If you aren’t going to Electric Picnic next weekend and you don’t have any plans, we suggest a weekend sitting in watching telly because there’s a feast of sport ahead.

Friday, September 4

Football – Gibraltar versus Ireland

The first of two must-win Euro 2016 qualifiers, we should beat the minnows easily. Kick off is at 7:45 (local time).

Saturday, September 5

Rugby – England versus Ireland

The two rivals face each other at Twickenham in their final World Cup warm-up game.

It’s Joe Schmidt’s last chance to test his troops before the tournament. That kicks off at 2:30pm.

England v Ireland - RBS Six Nations

GAA – Mayo versus Dublin

The two sides drew in today’s All-Ireland football semi final. The winners play Kerry.

The game is on at Croke Park and will more than likely throw in at 5pm.

Sunday, September 6

Hurling – Kilkenny versus Galway

The All-Ireland hurling final is the big one on Sunday, it throws in at 3:30pm at Croke Park. It has the potential to be a classic.

Monday, September 7

Football – Ireland versus Georgia

A crucial Euro 2016 qualifier for Martin O’Neill’s men, we have to win or we’re goosed. It kicks off at 7:45pm at the Aviva.
