PICS: Some very kind people are giving food and gifts to Dublin’s homeless community

Lovely to see

Lovely to see.

Plenty of us will be spending the next few days frantically rushing around in an effort to get some last minute presents, but Christmas is also a particularly hard time for other people in Irish society.

2015 has seen the issues of homelessness come to the fore in Ireland with increasing pressure being placed on the government to take a more active role in helping those people less fortunate than us.

The volunteers from the Inner City Helping Homeless group in Dublin have been doing their part though to spread some Christmas cheer.

Using the #FillATram campaign, they’re providing a free breakfast, lunch & dinner and tea to anyone that’s homeless while also offering the services of barbers and hairdressers. Anyone is welcome to come along, help or bring a present/donation to the cause.

That’s not all because as you’ve seen above, the volunteers have also managed to fill a tram with Christmas presents that they’ll be giving away to members of the homeless community.

Here’s a wonderful photo of a young girl that’s donating her present to the cause. Fair play to all involved for helping a really wonderful cause.
