What a result for Nigel Carolan’s side…
In the greatest result in Irish u20 history, Ireland have defeated New Zealand 33-24 in the JWC.
The Wolfpuppies recovered from an early defect to come from behind and claim a famous victory in Manchester.
Tries from Adam McBurney, Max Deegan and Greg Jones were enough to see Ireland over the line against the Baby Blacks.
Johnny McPhillips and Bill Johnston also kicked points on the way to a famous victory for Nigel Carolan’s men.
The set piece laid the ground work for the victory with Ireland completely dominating their more illustrious opponents at scrum time.
New Zealand are the current holders of the tournament and have won it five times.
The result leaves Ireland sitting pretty as they already have a win over Grand Slam champions Wales in this tournament.
What a result for these young men.
