Dundalk FC have announced that the home leg of their crucial Champions League play-off will take place in Dublin’s Aviva Stadium.
Dundalk, who usually play in Oriel Park, will face off against one of Viktoria Plzen, Red Bull Salzburg, Celtic, APOEL Nicosia and Legia Warsaw. This will be decided at 11am on Friday.
Even if Stephen Kenny’s men are to bow out at this stage, they will automatically qualify for the group stages of the Europa League – thanks to their successes against FH and BATE Borisov.
TV3 will broadcast the Wednesday night fixture involving Dundalk. The club have confirmed that Ireland’s national football stadium will host the game, and ticketing details will follow shortly.
Our upcoming UEFA Champions League match will take place at the @AVIVAStadium! More to follow shortly!
