The Meath man was in charge of Dublin’s epic victory over Kerry at Croke Park in the All-Ireland semi-final.
Referee David Gough had objects thrown at him as he left the pitch following the All-Ireland semi-final, according to claims by a number of journalists at Croke Park.
Gough took charge of an enthralling clash between the two biggest names in Gaelic Football and his performance was praised by RTÉ analyst and Kerry man Pat Spillane after the game.
Twitter, as you would expect, was divided as to the quality of Gough’s performance, but, if the reports are true, some at Croke Park weren’t afraid to let him know what they thought.
