Inevitably, McGregor was late…
A Conor McGregor press conference is never without drama and it came in a number of forms on Thursday evening as the pre-fight UFC 205 press conference unfolded.
The Notorious was once again late to the party as he continued his trend of arriving late to events.
Alvarez was clearly wound-up by a combination of McGregor’s timekeeping and the reception he received from Irish fans who weren’t shy in showing their feelings for the Philadelphia fighter.
"Where's my opponent?" asks Alvarez.
"OLE OLE OLE OLE" responds the crowd pic.twitter.com/xZO4xIobb9— JOE.ie (@JOEdotie) November 10, 2016
Alvarez: "I'm disappointed in the country of Ireland that this is your representative. Where is he?!" #ufc205 pic.twitter.com/ve59KFXN7f

McGregor eventually showed up, but not before Alvarez had walked off stage. The Dubliner swanned across the stage and plucked the lightweight belt from Alvarez’s table and plonked it down in front of himself.
This didn’t go down well with the Philly fighter, you can see more on that here.

Is the illusion of insanity running wild? I really can't tell at this stage but man that press conference had it all and then some. #UFC205

If the press conference is any indication, the Irish are in rare form. Sounds like the lead up to the Mendes fight
