Claire Byrne Live on Monday night is going to be very, very interesting

Tony Cuddihy

If you caught the controversy last week around a certain article that appeared on the Irish Times’ website, then you’ll be tuning in tonight.

Nicholas Pell, the American writer whose ‘Alt-right glossary’ last week on the Irish Times’ website caused a lot of controversy, will make an appearance on Claire Byrne Live on Monday night.

If you’re not familiar with the episode, read this.

Pell will appear along with Amnesty Ireland’s Colm O’Gorman, journalist Brenda Power and blogger Rosemary Mac Cabe where the debate will be based on the question, “Should free speech be an absolute right, even when it’s likely to offend, provoke or antagonise?”

Also, Minister Eoghan Murphy – from the Department of Finance – to give the government’s first reaction to RTÉ documentary The Great Irish Sell-Off opposite Pearse Doherty, Sinn Féin TD and finance spokesperson, and Ross Maguire, senior counsel and founder of New Beginning.

It’s going to be explosive.
