Things are going to get toasty.

hottest day of the year

Break out the sun cream folks, it’s about to get warmer…

We’ve been spoiled in Ireland over the last number of days as the glorious weather has made us believe we were down on the continent somewhere.

But alas, you haven’t woken up in some tropical paradise. You’re still in Ireland, even if you don’t believe the weather could be this beautiful in the Emerald Isle.

But you can expect even more sun on Wednesday, as temperatures are predicted to rise as high as 29 degrees in places.

It will be warm and humid around the country on Wednesday, with some hazy sunshine. Temperatures in most places will be between 22 and 26 degrees but it could reach as high as 28-29 degrees in parts of Leinster.

However, cloud will thicken in western counties later bringing with it the risk of some showers.

For the remainder of Tuesday, temperatures will be 18-22 degrees in Connacht, Ulster and counties bordering the Irish sea, but will be between 22-26 degrees elsewhere.

But the bad news is, Thursday will spell the end of the recent period of fantastic weather as temperatures will drop, bringing with it and increased risk of showers.

The weather will be more unsettled as we move towards Friday and the weekend.
