The accident happened in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Gardaí in Bailieboro are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the Dublin Road, Kingscourt, Cavan in the early hours of Saturday, 28 April.
At approximately 1.55am, a male driver, aged 18, was fatally injured when the car he was driving was in collision with a second vehicle.
The male driver of the second car, aged 19 years, was uninjured.
The body of the deceased has been removed to Cavan General Mortuary where a post mortem will take place.
The road is currently closed to facilitate an examination by the Garda forensic collision investigators, who are at scene. Local diversions are in place.
