15 years later, we finally get our first look at the gameplay for one of the most anticipated sequels of all time

FINALLY! The wait is (almost) over!

In the long (but, in another way, quite short) list of much-anticipated sequels, there haven’t been a huge amount of success stories.

Remember Duke Nukem Forever? Yeah, we’d rather forget it, too.

Or Team Ico’s follow-up to Shadow Of The Colossus, 2016’s The Last Guardian, which just kind of came-and-went without much notice?

And the less we say about the maybe-NEVER-to-be-made Half Life 3, the better.

So while we have a lot of reasons to temper our excitement for Beyond Good And Evil 2, the second we got our eyes on the first proper gameplay footage from the game, all of that ability to properly reason went out the window.

As of right now, there is still no set release date for the sequel.

Or even a set platform for the game, although we wouldn’t be surprised to hear that it will be one of the launch titles for whatever the next iteration of PlayStation and/or XBox turn out to be.

The original game was released in 2003, and went on to become one of the biggest cult-classics of all time. The upcoming sequel – which is in fact a prequel to the events of the first game – has been in the works since 2007, so to say that fans have been patient is a bit of an understatement.
