Julia Louis-Dreyfus Ireland visit Dublin

Céad Míle Fáilte to one of the funniest people in the entertainment business.

The great Julia Louis-Dreyfus has hit up the capital this weekend, and appears to be having a very enjoyable visit indeed.

The Emmy Award-winning star of Seinfeld and Veep posted a series of Instagram stories on Friday, offering brief highlights of her trip to the Emerald Isle.

First up, your standard Los Angeles to Dublin plane flight, complete with obligatory ‘clouds shot’ photo (hey, we’ve all done it):

Followed by a shout-out to a certain popular chocolate bar…

Then came a visit to Trinity College:

And finally, a meal at one of Dublin’s more luxurious food haunts:

Pretty good Friday all in all, even if Louis-Dreyfus failed to hit up the Longitude festival out in Marlay Park, but you can only pack so much into a weekend mini-break.

Having won Outstanding Comedy Series for the past three years running, HBO’s Veep wasn’t among the Emmy nominations this week due to not being eligible.

The eligibility period runs from 1 June to 31 May every year, and production on Veep was delayed as Louis-Dreyfus underwent treatment for breast cancer.

It marks the first time that the actor wasn’t nominated in six years.

Two weeks after winning her eighth Emmy gong for acting last year, Louis-Dreyfus announced her diagnosis.

In February, she took to Instagram to hail  “great doctors, great results” adding that she was “feeling happy and ready to rock” following surgery.
