This will absolutely warm your heart.
Ava, aged 11, from County Kildare, had her dreams come true this weekend when she got to meet her heroes on the All Blacks rugby team.
Make-A-Wish Ireland teamed with their partners in New Zealand and Irish Rugby in order to make sure that Ava’s wish came true — and that she even got her photo taken with her hero, New Zealand’s number 10 Beauden Barrett. Ava practices kicking in her own back garden so it makes sense that she’d want to meet the All Black’s main man.
According to Make-A-Wish Ireland, “Both Barrett boys (Jordi and Beauden) signed a miniature All Blacks ball and she christened it the ‘Barrett Ball’ immediately! They posed for photographs and answered her questions. All of the players were wonderful and genuinely looked pleased to meet her.
“Just when it was time to go, an IRFU representative said the Head Groundsman from the Aviva Stadium wanted to invite Ava onto the pitch… to pose under the goalposts and Ava happily walked out and posed for the camera!”
Pictures from the Aviva are absolutely heartwarming.
Ava (11) from Kildare, who lives with multiple medical conditions wished to meet Beauden Barrett and the All Blacks team. A huge thanks to @AllBlacks who went above and beyond to put the smile on Ava’s face. Read Ava's wish story here – https://t.co/RxPdYgvhD2 #MagicalMonday pic.twitter.com/tW2SXu0U1D
