He’s sticking to his guns.
David Cameron has maintained that he does not regret calling the Brexit referendum that took place all the way back in 2016.
Speaking on Wednesday morning, ahead of a debate on the matter of May’s leadership, Cameron said that he hopes “Parliament can come together and find an alternative partnership agreement with the EU.”
When asked whether he regrets calling the referendum, the former Prime Minister went on to say: “I don’t regret calling the referendum. It was a promise I made two years before the 2015 General Election…
“Obviously I regret that we lost that referendum. I deeply regret that.”

The most recent twist in the Brexit tale occurred when Theresa May’s withdrawal agreement was defeated in the House of Commons by the overwhelming margin of 202 to 432.
It was a record defeat for a government motion in the history of parliamentary politics in the United Kingdom.
If the motion of no confidence in Theresa May passes, she will have to resign — a move which would likely force a general election.
