If you haven’t played it yet, now is your chance.

2018 was a pretty fantastic year for games.

If you don’t believe us, then check out our rundown of the ten best games of the year right here.

One of those games was released late into the year, but once November came, millions of players soon realised just how incredible Tetris Effect actually was.

An incredible update on the iconic block puzzle game, it went on to win multiple awards and top several end-of-year lists.

Check out some of the reviews below:

“This is truly Tetris like you’ve never played or felt before, and the blissful escape we all need in 2018. Because when the real world is full of chaos, Tetris Effect, much like the psychological phenomenon the game takes its name from, is about finding order in things, and taking back control. 10 out of 10.” – Fandom

“It is a game you’ve played a thousand times before – yet there is nothing else quite like it. 9 out of 10.” – Edge Magazine

“I’ve tried to make peace with the possibility that Tetris Effect is a game I love too much. 9 out of 10” – Washington Post

“One of the greatest games ever made returns and finds a perfect evolution in Tetris Effect. The result is a timeless take on that best puzzler ever, and one that gives PS4 owners a true Game of the Generation candidate. This truly is Tetris 2.0. 10 out of 10.” – Playstation Universe

Tetris Effect is available to download for free on the PSN this weekend, and is available to play from Friday 8 to the morning of Monday 11 February, before it simply becomes an empty file taking up some precious space on your PS4 memory.

We imagine once you’ve got the taste you’ll want to go and buy the whole thing, and thankfully the full game will be there on the PSN to purchase for just 40 quid.
