Liam Gallagher movie casting call

Do you ‘ave what it takes?

Liam Gallagher is about to hit cinema screens with the release of new documentary As It Was, which arrives next week.

Obviously nobody could take the younger Gallagher brother’s place in a documentary, but someone is going to have to adopt his famous swagger for a new film.

Produced by Danny Boyle and directed by Nick Moran – who you might remember from Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels – Creation Stories will focus on the life and times Alan McGee; a huge music industry figure and a pivotal player in the Oasis story.

Irvine Welsh is adapting McGee’s autobiography Riots, Raves and Running a Record Label: The Story of Creation Records, and the cast is filling out nicely.

On board so far are Rupert Everett, Jason Flemyng, Suki Waterhouse, and Ewan Bremner, who will play the role of McGee.

And given that you can’t really tell his story without featuring some household names, the producers are on the hunt for the right man to take on Liam Gallagher.

As such, there’s an open casting call if you fancy throwing your hat into the ring.

As for the criteria? The ideal candidate will be a male aged between 18 and 23, and they’re looking “for more than just a haircut and a parka” so you’ll need to do more than cosplay.

If you think you can fill the shoes of an icon, send a video application to [email protected] by 6pm on Friday 31 May.

As for what that video should entail; the producers have requested that the self-taped auditions use the dialogue in the below video from 47 seconds in:

Creation Stories will begin shooting this June.

Speaking with JOE a few months back, The Hole in the Ground director Lee Cronin did note his enthusiasm for making an Oasis biopic one day, with Barry Keoghan his shout for one of the top two roles.

So if Barry Keoghan ends up getting cast, you heard it here first…
