Woman in her 60s dies following road traffic collision in Tipperary

The incident occurred on Friday afternoon.

A woman in her 60s has died following a road traffic collision in Tipperary.

Gardaí in Thurles are investigating the fatal road traffic collision which occurred at Bouladuff, Thurles in Tipperary in the early hours of Saturday morning.

At approximately 2.30am a male truck driver (mid 40s) was in collision with a car.

The driver of the car, who was a female in her mid 60s, was fatally injured and her body has been removed to University Hospital Limerick, where a post mortem will take place.

The driver of the truck was not injured.

The Garda Collision Investigators are currently at scene and the road remains closed at this time with local diversions in place.
