Dublin Fire Brigade tackle substantial blaze at primary school

The alarm was raised shortly after 6am on Wednesday.

Dublin Fire Brigade has dispatched multiple units to deal with a substantial blaze that broke out at a primary school in Coolock on Wednesday morning.

Having received a 999 call at 6.10am, DFB attended the scene of the fire at Scoil Chaitriona GNS off the Malahide Road, quickly requesting a tanker to supplement the water supply.

At least six fire engines are on the scene at the time of writing.

Shortly after 8.30am, Dublin Fire Brigade issued an update, noting:

“We’ve made good progress at the fire. We now have five pumps, a turntable ladder, emergency tender and foam unit on scene.”

Photographs provided by Dublin Fire Brigade on Twitter detailed the extent of the damage and the scale of the operation:

No injuries have been reported as of yet.

Local residents have been advised to stay indoors while the fire is being attended to.
