The show airs this week on RTÉ and has been described as “every bit as funny and sweet as the first series”.
Not that we’re expecting a career change from one of Ireland’s most famous footballers, but we’re very curious to see how Roy Keane would rate his most recent performance in Season 2 of The Young Offenders?
While Keano doesn’t appear until the third episode of the season, JOE has already seen the first two episodes of the beloved comedy and we can confirm that fans are in for a treat.
Just like the first season, audiences in the UK got to see the new episodes before fans in Ireland – the show is a BBC production, in association with RTÉ – and fans have absolutely loved what they’ve seen so far.
The official synopsis for the season opener states: “Everyone is anxious about the impending arrival, particularly Jock. A challenge from Principal Walsh puts not only Jock, but everyone involved under even more pressure. But everyone discovers they’re capable of things they never thought possible.”
Irish viewers will be able to watch the first episode of Season 2 of The Young Offenders when it airs on Monday, 11 November at 9.30pm on RTÉ 2.
JOE recently had the chance to meet the cast of the show, so keep an eye out for interviews with Alex Murphy (Conor), Chris Walley (Jock), Hilary Rose (Mairead), and PJ Gallagher (Principal Barry Walsh) in the coming days.
If you’re living in the UK, the series is now available to watch on the BBC iPlayer; the first reactions are in and they are very promising indeed.

The new series of Young Offenders is every bit as funny and sweet as the first series of Young Offenders and I commend it to the house.
