Gardaí appealing for witnesses to fatal shooting incident in Dublin

One man in his early 20s is reported to have died from his wounds.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward following a shooting incident in the Clonshaugh area of Dublin.

At approximately 5.15pm on Sunday (24 November), Gardaí and emergency services were called to the scene of a shooting incident on Clonshaugh Avenue.

When they arrived, a man in his early 20s was discovered with a number of apparent gunshot wounds.

He was treated at the scene, before being moved by ambulance to Beaumont Hospital, and he has since been pronounced dead.

Members of the Garda Technical Bureau are currently examining the scene and an incident room has been established at Coolock Garda Station.

The Coroner has been notified and the services of the State Pathologist have been requested.

Arrangements are being made for a post-mortem examination.

No arrests have been made to date and enquires are ongoing.
