Man arrested and charged in relation to fatal car crash in Offaly

A man in his 60s has been arrested and charged in connection with a fatal traffic collision that occurred in June of this year.

According to a statement issued by the Gardaí this evening, he will appear before Tullamore District Court tomorrow morning (18 December).

The incident resulted in the death of a pedestrian, aged in his 50s, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash, which occurred on 14 June earlier this year, happened on the Clonmeen Cross Road near Rhode Village in Offaly. The driver was also brought to hospital for his injuries at the time of the crash.

The driver has since been charged in relation to the incident, and was arrested on Tuesday.
