Gardaí stop learner driver going bonkers speed in Tipperary

Breakneck speed.

Gardaí in Tipperary stopped a learner driver driving at a speed of 204km/h on the M7 Nenagh last night.

In a tweet posted on Sunday morning (14 June), Gardaí wrote: “Incredible as it may seem! Thurles Garda Roads Policing Unit detected the driver of this car at a speed on 204km/h on the M7 Nenagh today. Driver was also a learner permit holder driving unaccompanied & had no insurance/tax.”

The tweet also specified that the driver was arrested, the car seized and that court proceedings will follow.

Elsewhere in Ireland, the Dublin Castle Roads Policing Unit stopped a driver at a speed of 210km/h on the m50 this morning. After being apprehended the driver tested positive for cannabis and was arrested.
