The Trump ads were removed due to the use of Nazi imagery.
Facebook has removed ads for the Donald Trump 2020 campaign for violating its policy against “organised hate”.
The ads in question talked about “dangerous mobs of far-left groups”, who are alleged to be running through the streets and “causing absolute mayhem”.
The ad used an upside-down triangle, which was said to be quite similar to notorious Nazi symbols associated with political prisoners in World War II concentration camps.
The Facebook advert also called on his followers to “stand with your President and declare ANTIFA a Terrorist Organization.”
Trump has been vocal in the past regarding his criticism of ANTIFA.
“We removed these posts and ads for violating our policy against organised hate. Our policy prohibits using a banned hate group’s symbol to identify political prisoners without the context that condemns or discusses the symbol,” a Facebook spokesperson told CNN.
Trump is yet to respond to the news, though his campaign described the triangle symbol that got the advert banned as “a symbol widely used by Antifa.”
This comes weeks after Twitter marked a tweet posted by Donald Trump as “glorifying violence”, and that it violated Twitter’s rules.
