The man remains in a serious condition.
A man in his 50s has been hospitalised after being attacked in his own home in Kerry on Thursday (4 February).
Gardaí in Rathmore are investigating the alleged assault after they were alerted to an injured man at his home in Gneeveguilla in Rathmoreat approximately 12.30pm.
The emergency services and Gardaí attended the scene, where they found the man injured.
He was then removed to Cork University Hospital for treatment, where he remains in a serious condition.
However, Gardaí have said that his injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.
Investigations are ongoing.
