A ridiculous John Travolta performance is among the movies on TV tonight

Movies on TV Tuesday 16 November

It’s Tuesday.

And it’s grim out there, folks.

All these Government announcements and restrictions sure can make the ‘ol head spin.

Shut it all down for an hour or three with a movie or two, you say?

Great idea. Here’s the most intriguing options on the box on Tuesday, 16 November…

Finding Your Feet – Film4 – 9pm

Spiky UK romantic comedy in which an upper-class woman is forced to slum it after she discovers that her husband is having an affair.

Swordfish – Turner Classic Movies / TCM – 9pm

A ridiculous turn-of-the-century film that features John Travolta – as an evil cyber-terrorist sporting one of the worst haircuts of his entire career – going up against Hugh Jackman’s frosted-tipped super-hacker.

Seriously, this is a ludicrous movie. And thus, it’s our chief recommend tonight!

The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King – Sky Showcase – 9pm

The third one.

Sudden Death – ITV4 – 10pm

A perfectly acceptable Die Hard knock-off finds humble security guard Jean-Claude Van Damme attempting to fend off ruthless bad guys at an ice hockey game.

Full Metal Jacket – TCM – 11.10pm

War is indeed hell in Stanley Kubrick’s acclaimed two-hander.

Bad Neighbours 2 – Film4 – 11.15pm

Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne deal, once more, with a difficult neighbour situation.

LISTEN: You Must Be Jokin’ with Aideen McQueen – Faith healers, Coolock craic and Gigging as Gaeilge
