Saturday night’s alright for movies…
Ladies and gentlemen… the weekend.
It’s here, and so is a big list of movies you can watch for free if you have a working TV.
We have no less than 20 films for you to choose from below, so I don’t want to hear any complaining, alright?
Here’s how it looks on Saturday, 20 November…
Inside Out – RTÉ One – 6.35pm
Highly emotional adventure from the team at Pixar.
Justice League – ITV2 – 6.40pm
The theatrical mess version rather than the revamped Snyder Cut.
The Greatest Showman – Film4 – 6.55pm
Our lead choice this evening is a box office phenomenon that people just can’t seem to get enough of.
Hugh Jackman takes centre stage in the smash-hit musical sensation that tells the story of ambitious showman and entrepreneur P.T. Barnum.
Support comes from Rebecca Ferguson, Zendaya, Zac Efron, Michelle Williams and a host of memorable songs.
The House Bunny – Comedy Central – 7pm
Anna Faris shines in this Playboy-themed comedy.
Suicide Squad – ITV2 – 9pm
The one with Jared Leto’s rather divisive take on The Joker.
Anna – Film4 – 9pm
A fairly disposable assassin thriller, though it does have Cillian Murphy.
American Pie 2 – Comedy Central – 9pm
Another slice of the action.
Bad Teacher – Dave – 9pm
Cameron Diaz is a bad teacher.
Christine – TG4 – 9.15pm
Challenging drama about American news reporter Christine Chubbuck, who took her own life while on the air during a television broadcast in 1974. Rebecca Hall stars.
Kingsman – The Secret Service – RTÉ 2 – 9.20pm
Irreverent comic-book action caper with Colin Firth and Taron Egerton.
Hanna – Turner Classic Movies / TCM – 10pm
Saoirse Ronan trains to become a lethal assassin.
Death Wish 2 – ITV4 – 10pm
The second one.
X-Men: Apocalypse – Channel 4 – 10pm
Probably the worst X-Men film until Dark Phoenix stumbled along.
Balls of Fury – Comedy Central – 11pm
Table tennis has never been so ridiculous.
Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children – Film4 – 11.20pm
Eva Green steals the show in Tim Burton’s fantasy adventure.
Payback – TCM – 12.20am
Mel Gibon seeks vengeance amidst a seedy criminal underworld.
Searching – Channel 4 – 12.40am
Decent screen-based thriller in which a father hunts for his missing daughter through the use of social media.
Good Luck Chuck – Comedy Central – 12.50am
Dane Cook is cursed to a life of regular and increasingly meaningless sexual congress.
Unlocked – RTÉ One – 12.55am
Pacy terrorism thriller starring Orlando Bloom and Noomi Rapace.
The Woman in Black 2: Angel of Death – Film4 – 1.45am
It’s a crime that they didn’t go with ‘Back in Black’ here.
LISTEN: You Must Be Jokin’ with Aideen McQueen – Faith healers, Coolock craic and Gigging as Gaeilge
