Here are the fifty – yep, 50! – new movies to watch on Prime Video.

Tilda Swinton plays a famous rock star on vacation and her boyfriend (Matthias Schoenaerts) in Italy, but their peace and calm is disrupted by the unexpected visit of an old friend (Ralph Fiennes) and his daughter (Dakota Johnson).

THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN & THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2

In light of No Way Home, is it time to re-evaluate these? Probably not. But Andrew Garfield remains great in them both.

AMERICAN PIE

A series of comedies that are very much of their time. American Pie 2, American Pie Reunion and American Wedding have also been added.

THE BIG LEBOWSKI

The Coen Brothers’ iconic zany comedy about a man (Jeff Bridges) who gets accidentally tangled up in a very complicated kidnapping plot.

BRIDESMAIDS

Kristen Wiig and Maya Rudolph are two best friends who have a massive falling out when one of them decides to get married, leaving the other behind to reassess her own life.

THE BUTLER

Forest Whitaker plays Cecil Gaines, the real-life butler who served eight different American presidents.

E.T.: THE EXTRA-TERRESTRIAL

Boy meets alien. We all cry.

THE GIRL IN THE SPIDER’S WEB

Claire Foy takes up the mantle of Lisbeth Salander in this adaptation of the hit novel sequel, but which is only a fraction as good as David Fincher’s take on The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.

THE HAPPYTIME MURDERS

In a world where humans and puppets co-exist, Melissa McCarthy is given a new detective partner to help solve a series of violent crimes. We interviewed the lead puppet, which was… an experience…

HERCULES

The Rock plays the legendary hero in this period action movie co-starring John Hurt, Ian McShane and Rebecca Ferguson.

HOME AGAIN

Reece Witherspoon plays a woman who has her life turned upside down when she splits up with her long term partner and has three young men move in to her house with her.

HOSTAGE

Bruce Willis plays a retired hostage negotiator who finds himself in the middle of a very complicated hostage situation that directly involves his own family.

I, ROBOT

Will Smith is at the forefront of a robot rebellion in this slick sci-fi action thriller.

IN BRUGES

Brendan Gleeson. Colin Farrell. One of the very best Irish movies ever made. We recently chatted to Matt Smith who told us that his claim to fame in Hollywood is having all of his scenes from In Bruges cut from the final movie…

INKHEART

A young girl discovers that her father (Brendan Fraser) has the power to bring characters from books to life, but that power is about to corrupted by a freed villain (Andy Serkis) from one of those stories.

JAWS

One of the greatest scary movies ever made. Jaws 2, Jaws 3-D and Jaws: The Revenge have also been added, but they’re not great.

JOE BELL

Mark Wahlberg stars in this true story about a man who embarks on a walk across the USA in order to raise awareness of bullying after his own son has been tormented in school for being gay. 40% on Rotten Tomatoes feels about right.

JOURNEY TO THE CENTRE OF THE EARTH

Brendan Fraser and Josh Hutcherson attempt to find out what happened to their missing relative, and end up travelling into the mysterious world beneath ours. A fun family-friendly, Jumanji-esque adventure.

KICK-ASS & KICK-ASS 2

The first one is great. The second one is not great.

KILLING THEM SOFTLY

Brad Pitt headlines this dark revenge thriller about an enforcer hired to restore order after a group of criminals rob from a Mob protected card game.

LAYER CAKE

This action-thriller is essentially the movie that landed Daniel Craig the role of James Bond. A very entertaining movie.

LES MISERABLES

Anne Hathaway won the Oscar for her role in this big screen adaptation of the much-loved musical. Hugh Jackman and Russell Crowe also feature.

LET’S BE COPS

Jake Johnson and Damon Wayans Jr. are wasted in this very unfunny action comedy.

MANDELA: LONG WALK TO FREEDOM

Idris Elba portrays Nelson Mandela in this biopic that tells his story from a young boy in a rural village all the way to becoming the first democratically elected president of South Africa.

MATILDA

Danny DeVito’s pitch black kids movie about a young girl who discovers she has been magically gifted.

MIRROR MIRROR

Julia Roberts stars as the wicked witch in this very stylish retelling of the Snow White tale.

MY BIG FAT GREEK WEDDING 2

The sequel to the hit original isn’t very good. Avoid.

PASSENGERS

Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence are awoken decades early on their spaceship heading for a new planet destined to keep humanity alive.

RUNAWAY BRIDE

The reunion of Julia Roberts and Richard Gere doesn’t quite have the same magic as Pretty Woman, but its still a pretty decent rom-com nonetheless.

THE SECRET LIFE OF WALTER MITTY

Ben Stiller directs and stars in this odd duck of a comedy drama about a man who discovers he’s about to be fired, so he heads off on an epic adventure he never could’ve imagined.

SELMA

A powerful drama telling the story of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s (played by David Oyelowo) campaigning to secure equal voting rights, culminating in an epic march from Selma to Montgomery in 1965 Alabama.

SHOWGIRLS

Put on your best Ver-sace.

SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE

Danny Boyle’s eight-times Oscar-winning drama tells the story of a young man (Dev Patel) who is accused of cheating while on the Indian version of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?

SNOWPIERCER

Before being adapted for an okay-ish show on Netflix, this was a movie starring Chris Evans and Tilda Swinton about a group of people living on a train in an ice-covered post-apocalypse.

SPEED & SPEED 2: CRUISE CONTROL

The first movie is one of the best action movies ever made. The second movie is one of the worst action movies ever made. Swings and roundabouts, really.

STEP BROTHERS

Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly’s parents get married, forcing these two grown men into having a new step brother very late into their lives. They don’t take it well. We recently caught up with Reilly about his new show Winning Time, and he seemed very surprised when we told him Step Brothers came out FOURTEEN years ago…

THIS IS THE END

A group of funny folk – Seth Rogen, Jonah Hill, Danny McBride, etc. – all play themselves in this comedy-horror about how celebrities might react to the rapture.

UNBROKEN

Angelina Jolie directs this true story of Olympic winner-turned-army hero Louis Zamperini (played by Jack O’Connell), who survived a plane crash only to end up in a prisoner of war camp during WWII.

WALK OF SHAME

Elizabeth Banks celebrates a bit too heavily the night before an important job opportunity, and finds herself miles away from where she needs to be, with no car, no money and no i.d.

WHITE HOUSE DOWN

Channing Tatum tries to save President Jamie Foxx from terrorists in what is basically Die Hard In The White House (but not to be confused with that other Die Hard In The White House, aka Olympus Has Fallen).

LISTEN: You Must Be Jokin’ with Aideen McQueen – Faith healers, Coolock craic and Gigging as Gaeilge
