‘If you have control of everything, your business will only grow to a point,’ says Maximum Media founder Niall McGarry

If you’re at a point in your business where you think it’s time to start scaling, it helps to hear from other entrepreneurs who have catapulted their business forward in the right direction before.

It takes being smart and investing time in the right areas, not necessarily among ‘the weeds,’ says JOE and Her founder, Niall McGarry.

If you want to scale your business and ensure a successful outcome, there will be a time when it’s necessary to take a step back from certain aspects.

“…there are weeds that you have to deal with day-to-day and I’ve always been strong on the thing, if you’re down there in the weeds with everyone then you’re not operationally directing the business.

That’s the scary part that comes with scaling, is that so many elements of the business go outside of the control of the sole entrepreneur or the partners at the top but it’s the only way to scale a business and it’s kind of what you have to give up to understand that ultimately if you have control of everybody and everything, your business will only grow to a point.

“…if you’re really going to take it to the next level, you’ve got to just accept this is now more like a helicopter ride than a nice smooth jumbo jet.”
