Volkswagen are a sound bunch of lads... They gave us a loan of Johnny Sexton's Toureg for a day.

Seriously. It had loads of kicking tee's and manky socks in the back.

So, we stuck a load of recording equipment in the boot, and went for a drive around Dublin city.

And just like that, Live from the Back Seat was born.

So we decided to call the guy who wrote Angels. The guy who played it to Robbie Williams in a pub one Saturday afternoon. The guy who could be a multi-millionaire buy now.

We'll let him tell you the story. Give the video a look, and if you like the tune, Ray's latest album is out at the minute called “New Dress Woven” - a title inspired by the last two lines of Patrick Kavanagh's “Canal Bank Walk”.

On Valentine's day, Ray released 'Stardust' in honour of the men and women who perished in the nightclub fire in 1981.

You can get it from all the usual digital places, or if you chose to go for the physical, grab a copy of the CD... It's got a kilt stitched to the outside... Honestly? It needs to be seen to be believed.

And if you want to experience it all live, Ray brings the 7 member strong 'Grand Canal Band' to Dublin for a headline show at The Unitarian Church on Saturday 9th March. Special guests are Smith & O'Reilly. Tickets €10 at door, or pre-order via www.rayheffernan.net

Buy him a pint after the gig, he's a sound lad. F*ck it, get him drunk. He might give you the biggest selling song of 2013.
