Gay Byrne cancer

Great to hear.

Broadcasting icon Gay Byrne is ‘making progress’ in his battle against cancer.

The 83-year-old presenter and his wife, Kathleen Watkins, were speaking with The Sunday Independent and he said that his treatment “seems to be working, in that they tell me I am making progress”.

The former presenter of The Late Late Show was diagnosed with prostate cancer two years ago and at the time, he revealed the news on his radio show.

“I’ve had the most wonderful, fantastic, robust, good health all my broadcasting life. It’s my turn now”, said Byrne.

Well, we’re delighted to see that he’s on the mend and that the treatment seems to be working.

He added:”It’s been quite good so far. I don’t experience any pain – it’s all just general disorder. Having enjoyed robust health for 83 years, you wonder what the hell is wrong with you.”

Long may his good health continue.
