Quit to Fit Week 8: A time for reflection

Nearly there.

With only two weeks left, we’re at the tail end of our Quit to Fit challenge. You’ve been put through a fair bit in the last eight weeks and it hasn’t been easy.

Still, it’s all about the end goal and lasting change takes a bit of work.

What to expect?

By now you have a good idea of what works and what doesn’t when it comes to keeping your mind off smoking.

Our life coach Raul Aparici says that now is a good time to “grab a notebook or laptop and write down what you’ve learned. What have been the most difficult steps in the process? Where have you had the most fun? What did you find out about yourself that surprised you?”

It’s also a good idea to think about who your biggest allies have been during this process. It’s equally useful to think about the people who you needed to take time away from.

Once you have all this information in front of you can start thinking about how it can help you going forward.

Don’t forget that your friends and family have had to go through this process with you. With that in mind, it’s important to think about how this information can help your relationship with them too.

Now it’s time to start thinking about the future. What are you most looking forward to in the rest of your smoke-free life?

The challenge

While we’re on about thinking of the future, we might as well let you in on this week’s activity. We’re challenging you to meet with a personal trainer or gym instructor, so you can plan a new training session.

There’s no point in hitting the gym with a programme that doesn’t work for you, or worse, no programme at all. This plan should be tailored especially for what you want to achieve. Whether that’s looking to bulk up, lose weight or just maintain a basic level of fitness.

Look at this as a starting off point. You’re beginning to develop new habits which will lead to a healthier lifestyle and this is just one piece of that puzzle.

Follow our teams’ progress on Twitter and Instagram using the hashtag #QuitToFit. Get involved and post your own updates using the hashtag.
