This handy tool will calculate exactly what time you need to go to bed at night

Conor Heneghan

This will come in handy.

Many people will claim that only they can tell exactly how much sleep they require to function the following day, yet loads of us find ourselves feeling tired and lethargic a lot of the time so maybe we could do with some advice on the matter.

That’s where a website called sleepyti.me comes in.

Based on their assertion that a good night’s sleep consists of 5-6 sleep cycles and that it takes the average person 14 minutes to fall asleep, the website will come up with a number of different options of times to go to bed at depending on what time you need to rise in the morning.

It will also tell you what time to get up at if you go to bed right now, depending on whether it’s a nap or a deep slumber you’re after.

Some will rail against such a scientific approach to sleep – many will still prefer the ‘I’ll sleep when I’m tired’ approach – but if you find that you’re not yourself due to your sleeping habits, surely it’s worth a shot, right?
