The whole idea of the Blue September campaign is to get us men to know the signs of men's cancers and how to spot them. Your doctor, of course, can help you in this regard too but as we know, many of us are reluctant to go see them.
As part of their sponsorship of the Blue September initiative, Vhi Healthcare is offering 200 free consultations to men. You don't even have to be a Vhi Healthcare customer to avail of this offer either.
If you would like to apply for a consultation, all you have to do is email [email protected], including a contact telephone number. Appointments will be allocated strictly on a first come, first served basis.
During the consultation the doctor will go through the common cancers affecting men and give advice on prevention, early signs and symptoms to look out for and self-examination. They will also discuss the factors that can increase the chance of cancer e.g. smoking, alcohol, BMI (which will be calculated during the session) and family history.
Please note: The consultation will not involve blood tests or diagnosis of cancer but will be aiming to give men the tools they need to be proactive about their health in relation to cancer prevention.
