While Dan was away, Brian will play, or so the old saying goes. But in fact, he didn't, he worked even harder, and Dan was impressed with how well he'd gotten on in his absence.
That didn't save him from the horror of “giant sets” though, as Brian was put through his paces in The Fitness Dock gym.
A giant set is what it says on the tin, a workout that pushes one particular muscle to its limits. You do an exercise for ten reps, take no rest, then move on to the next exercise. You do these sets in blocks of three, six, nine, or even ten if you think you can handle it.
