All your All-Ireland football and hurling qualifier draw news

Old rivals Kerry and Tyrone will face off in the third round of the All-Ireland football qualifiers next weekend.

Kerry escaped to victory in Mullingar on Sunday where they had just one point to spare against Westmeath having trailed by six early in the second half.

Tyrone had things much easier in Dr Hyde Park on Saturday where they were 11 points too good for Roscommon, and despite Kerry having home advantage Mickey Harte’s men will fancy their chances of ending their old foes' interest in the All-Ireland championship this year. The winners of that one will take on Clare in the fourth round.

Elsewhere in Round 3 of the football qualifiers, Leitrim were rewarded for their first ever qualifier win against Wicklow at the weekend with another home draw against Leinster opposition – they will welcome Laois to Carrick-on-Shannon next weekend, with the winners taking on the losers of the Dublin-Meath Leinster final in the fourth round.

Tipperary and Antrim, who shocked Wexford and Galway respectively this weekend, go head-to-head in Tipp while Seanie Johnston and Kildare have home advantage against Limerick.

Kildare v Limerick (winners v Sligo)
Tipperary v Antrim (winners v losers of Donegal-Down)
Kerry v Tyrone (winners v Clare)
Leitrim v Laois (winners v losers of Dublin-Meath)

In hurling, meanwhile, it is poor unfortunate Limerick who drew the shortest draw with the task of being steamrolled by Kilkenny in the quarter-finals.

The Shannonsiders advanced past Clare on Saturday evening and will now face the challenge of taking on around about a dozen of the best hurlers side of all time, all of whom will have the motivation of bouncing back from a chastening Leinster final defeat to Galway.

In the other quarter-final beaten Munster finalists Waterford will renew acquaintances with Cork.

Both games will take place on the weekend of 28-29 July, with exact details to be announced later today.
