A whole host of stonewall classic games have been added to Sega’s new Mega Drive Mini

The appetite amongst gamers for rebooted versions of classic consoles shows little sign of being quenched anytime soon.

Sega is set to follow in the footsteps of the likes of Nintendo and PlayStation with the release of the Sega Genesis Mini/Mega Drive Mini in September of this year, which will come with a host of popular games pre-loaded and ready to play.

The console will come loaded with 40 games in total, 10 of which were revealed by Sega at the end of March, followed by another 10 on Thursday, including a host of classics beloved by gamers who had a soft spot for the original Mega Drive a couple of decades ago.

The new titles include Earthworm Jim, Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and Streets of Rage 2, which will be added to a list that already included the original Sonic the Hedgehog amongst others (see full list below).

  • World of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck

  • Shinobi 3: Return of the Ninja Master
  • Landstalker
