NOSTALGIA ALERT!

2019 has seen the return of both The Lion King and Aladdin on the big screen, with both movies making over a billion dollars at the worldwide box office.

Additionally, there has been a massive uptick in “nostalgia gaming” in recent years, with old school games and consoles getting re-released in new packaging, so gamers of a certain age can get that hit of rose-tinted platforming, such as with the upcoming Sega Mega Drive Mini.

So smushing those two things together, it makes perfect sense that the hit Aladdin and The Lion King games that graced the Sega Mega Drive over a quarter of a century ago are making a comeback, as remastered versions of both games will be bundled together for the upcoming re-release on the PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.

On top of getting a prettier, HD version of both games, there will also be additional gameplay features, such a rewind option, which will allow players to go 15 seconds back in time (should they have made a mistake and made a wrong turn somewhere).

There will also be a fast-forward feature, allowing players to jump to any point in the game they want to replay immediately, as well as the choice to turn on invulnerability or infinite lives.

Customisable controls, a choice of visuals filters, and an extensive behind-the-scenes look at how both games were made are also included in the package.

Disney Classic Games: Aladdin and The Lion King is set to arrive this October. Check out the announcement trailer right here:
