JOE Gaming Weekly – The location of the next Assassin’s Creed may have just leaked

Rory Cashin

Apparently it won’t be set in Feudal Japan like we’d all hoped and/or suspected….

Welcome to JOE Gaming Weekly, your weekly round-up of all things gaming.

Or, specifically, the one big game you should play this week, the one big piece of gaming news you need to know about, and the one big deal available to purchase this week.

So, off we go!

GAME OF THE WEEK

MADiSON

If you’re a fan of scary games, then MADiSON is a must-play. You’ll find yourself being tormented by the spirit of an evil murderer, who is forcing our hero to do unspeakable acts that began as a ritual decades earlier. With the assistance of an instant camera, you will connect the real world with the world beyond ours, to solve puzzles and – most importantly – survive.

MADiSON is available on PlayStation and PC right now.

BIG NEWS OF THE WEEK

The setting for the next Assassin’s Creed may have been leaked

Ever since the sorta-reboot of the Assassin’s Creed series, the location of each game has proven to be one of the biggest attractions for players. So far, we’ve had Egypt (Origins), Greece (Odyssey) and England and Norway (Valhalla), but where might they be going next?

There were rumours that we’d be heading to Feudal Japan for the next tale, but the recent release Ghost Of Tsushima might have put a spanner in those particular works. Gamerant reported that a potential leak suggested that the next AC game will be set within the Aztecs.

Controlling a trained killer around the city of Tenochtitlan? Yes, please.

DEAL OF THE WEEK

Three of the best action-adventure games of recent years, all in one glorious package. The Definitive Survivor Trilogy includes Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration, and Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition.

Tomb Raider: Definitive Survivor Trilogy is available on the PS Store until Wednesday, 20 July, marked down from €49.99 to just €19.99.
