JOE Gaming Weekly – Someone has finished Elden Ring in under SEVEN minutes!

Rory Cashin

There’s also a new game where you control a werewolf in the Old West, which is …. very cool.

Welcome to JOE Gaming Weekly, your weekly round-up of all things gaming.

Or, specifically, the one big game you should play this week, the one big piece of gaming news you need to know about, and the one big deal available to purchase this week.

So, off we go!

MUST PLAY OF THE WEEK

Weird West

A top-down twin-stick shooter which feels like an action’y version of Fallout 2, you control five bounty hunters in an alternative version of the Wild West filled with supernatural elements. For example, one of the bounty hunters you control happens to be a werewolf, and that is awesome.

The massively interactive and responsive world is matched with some great writing and characters, with loads of different branching paths within the story to ensure that (within reason) no two run throughs of the game will be the exact same. So if you’re looking for something very different to your typical AAA-releases, this could be the one for you.

Weird West is available on PS4, Xbox One and PC right now.

BIG NEWS OF THE WEEK

Someone beat Elden Ring in less than SEVEN MINUTES!

Under normal circumstances, and if you’re just sticking to the main campaigns, then Elden Ring should took around 50 hours to complete. If you find yourself wandering off the beaten path for 100% completion, it should take around 120 hours to achieve.

However, a YouTuber by the name of Distortion2 has managed to zip through to the end of the game in less than seven minutes. He is using the “Zip Glitch”, which allows the player to teleport to pretty much anywhere in the map, but still, it is a massively impressive achievement.

DEAL OF THE WEEK

Star Wars Squadrons

The first-person space combat game takes place after the events of Return Of The Jedi, going back and forth between the New Republic and the Galactic Empire, giving both sides to the top secret Project Starhawk.

Between the recent Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and the recent multiple series on Disney+, it has been a great time to be a Star Wars fan lately, and Squadrons is another great addition to the canon.

Star Wars Squadrons is available in Argos for PS4 and Xbox One for €8.99.
