Will the Nintendo Switch be discounted this Prime Day?

Amazon’s Prime Day is taking place this month, and shoppers might be wondering if they’ll be able to bag a cheaper Nintendo Switch.
The sale takes place from 8-11 July, with thousands of discounts expected across the website, including gaming ranges.
Nintendo rarely offers discounts on its consoles, but following the release of the Switch 2, fans might be hoping that the original console will see a discount during Prime Day.
The original Switch is currently priced at £238.79 / €287.25 on Amazon, while the OLED edition is £242 / €338.91.
These prices will be one to keep an eye out, to see if they drop at all next week during the Prime Day sale.
One thing that’s guaranteed for Prime Day 2025 is discounts on Nintendo Switch games.
Different games for the console are regularly discounted on Amazon, and via other retailers, so you should be able to bag some decent deals.
At the time of writing there are some early Nintendo Switch gaming deals, including EA Sports FC 25, which has dropped to £19.99 / €23.12 from £34.99 / €40.46.
Another is MySims: Cozy Bundle, which is priced at £18.99 / €21.96 instead of £34.99 / €40.46.
So, this means that shoppers can expect more discounts across Nintendo games and accessories next week, while we’ll have to watch this space for a console discount.
Meanwhile Amazon confirmed a list of brands that will take part in the sale despite usually keeping tight lipped about exactly what will be included.
It says products from Bose, De’ Longhi, Dyson, Lego, Shark, CeraVe, Ninja, and Sonos will all be available across the four days.
This means you can expect the likes of air fryers, vacuum cleaners, coffee machines, speakers and headphones to be on sale.
As well as this, shoppers can also expect Amazon to reduce the price of its own tech including the Echo Dot smart speaker, the Echo Show video device and Fire Sticks, which can be used to watch TV streaming services.
