If you’ve never played it before, we can’t recommend it enough.
Initially released in August 2020, just as everyone was very much stuck indoors and looking for anything – ANYTHING! – as a distraction, Fall Guys was an immediate hit.
You control a jelly bean-shaped character who takes part in a race to the finish line, through a Takeshi’s Castle-esque arena filled with tricks and traps designed to slow you down or knock you into the oblivion waiting below.
Up to 64 players can play together in a single arena online, with more and more of the Fall Guys being eliminated each round, until you get to the final round, with the winner being named Last Man Standing.
You can either play with strangers, or ask your gaming buddies to log in and tackle the rounds with you.
With every round you win, you receive more in-game currency, which allows you to buy some funky costume changes and emotes to use. And this week, the game is now free to play!
The game developers said this about the free launch: “Brand new rounds, new costumes, a sparkly new Season Pass, availability on Nintendo Switch and Xbox, and shiny new versions for PlayStation 5 and the Epic Games Store!”
Straight from the off, new players will have access to 50 levels to play around in, with the newest additions as part of the game’s latest update.
Fall Guys is available to play for free right now on PlayStation, Xbox, Switch and PC.
