WATCH: The story trailer for Far Cry New Dawn shows players a brand new threat

Shit just got real.

Normally in the Far Cry franchise, we control someone who finds themselves in a specific part of the globe that is under control from a nearby tyrant. From Micronesia, to Africa, to the Pacific Islands, to the Himalayas, it culminated in attempting to take down a cult-like group in Montana in the States. The upcoming Far Cry New Dawn is a direct sequel to Far Cry 5, as we find ourselves in something resembling a post-apocalyptic world, following on from that downer ending in which, yep, most of the known world seemed to descent into nuclear war. New Dawn picks up several years later, with your character emerging from a bunker - so not a million miles away from the infamous Fallout series, but obviously aiming to be a lot better than recent Fallout 76 entry - and a new major threat has arisen from the ashes. Considering the fact that Far Cry 5 was one of the biggest hits of 2018, the appetite is obviously still huge for the series.
