Fortnite players threaten to ditch the game after new update makes it too hard

Et tu, B.R.U.T.E.S?

Bit of Shakespeare humour for you, there.

B.R.U.T.E.S - super-powered robots which have recently been introduced into the online game Fortnite - are causing some players to threaten to quit the game.

The objective of the game is to not die, and the giant mechs are simply too good at killing gamers.

However, the creators of the game will not remove the B.R.U.T.E.S, opting instead to make them less powerful, and less frequently occurring.

Epic Games, the company behind Fortnite, issued a statement on the matter, saying: "We’ve been monitoring the impact of the B.R.U.T.E. in gameplay and are investigating ways to enhance combat feedback when interacting with the vehicle. In v10.10, we will add a targeting laser that will show the direction the B.R.U.T.E. is aiming its rockets while they are being charged.

"This laser will have directional audio to help indicate when it’s being pointed at you, even if you’re behind a structure. We’ve also fixed a few mobility bugs that was allowing players to exploit its boost mechanic."

Some players don't think this is enough, with Fortnite Intel writer Mitch Reames writing: "They are adding a laser sight on the rockets. That’s it. That’s all they are doing. Now you will know you are about to be bombarded by ten rockets seconds before you actually are."

The Fortnite World Cup took place last month, and Ireland were repressed by Joshua Juliano, who plays under the gamer-tag lolb0om. He won $50,000 for participating.
